LabelClinic ISBT

Simplify Blood Labeling with

LabelClinic® ISBT is an on-demand database and printing software that conforms to the ISBT-128 standard for blood product identification from the International Council for Commonality in Blood Banking Automation, Inc. (ICCBBA).  LabelClinic provides a secure, robust and flexible ISBT-128 and Codabar compliant label printing environment that can be integrated into your Blood Bank Management System or operated as a stand-alone system.  LabelClinic eliminates the learning curve and time to deploy ISBT-128 compliant database tables and blood labeling into your blood bank.

The Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) of LabelClinic extends rich functionality to any blood bank information system.

Label Formats Supported

LabelClinic enables compliant printing of a full library of ISBT-128 and ABC Codabar label formats.  The label formats included in LabelClinic are the result of hundreds of hours of design time to ensure compliance to the blood identification standard.

ISBT FORMATS SUPPORTED (PDF files generated from LabelClinic):

Full Face, ABO-Date, ABO, Product, Product-Date, Facility-Product, Expiration Date, Facility, DIN Set, Intended Recipient

ABC CODABAR FORMATS SUPPORTED (PDF files generated from LabelClinic):

Codabar Blood Groups, Codabar Expiration Date, Codabar Product Code, Codabar DIN Set

CUSTOM LABEL FORMATS

In addition to the compliant formats supplied with LabelClinic, the user can design custom formats that are automatically recognized by LabelClinic.  Using the NiceLabel Pro Designer, creation of specialized chart labels, patient wristbands and more has never been so simple.  Implementing custom label formats creates more value for you in the same LabelClinic deployment.

Database Resources

LabelClinic Print Server includes database tables that are derived from the ICCBBA product code database as well as translation of printable phrases per the ISBT-128 specification.  Using LabelClinic means never having to translate the ISBT-128 database yourself.

LabelClinic delivers the complete ICCBBA product code database of over 6000 blood product codes.  In addition, LabelClinic can return detailed information from the ICCBBA database that is partioned from the product code.  Information such as listing all available modifiers, anticoagulants, donation types/intended use and more.

The LabelClinic database tables can be updated without the need to reinstall LabelClinic.  This is beneficial for obtaining new product codes when released from ICCBBA.

Stand-Alone Deployment

In many cases, hospital blood banks and transfusion services do not have a blood bank information system that allows the facility to integrate label printing for blood units.  A stand-alone deployment of LabelClinic enables a facility to start labeling or re-labeling of blood units at minimum cost and resources.  If the time comes to integrate blood labeling into the blood bank information system, no additional licensing is required.  In addition, the LabelClinic Stand-alone deployment can be a backup or downtime alternative to the Integrated deployment.  Simply install the LabelClinic Client from the server to as many PCs in a facility as needed, and the Stand-Alone deployment is complete.

Integrated Deployment

The LabelClinic Print Server simplifies the addition of ISBT-128 compliant database tables and label printing into any software application. Integrating the LabelClinic Print server saves business-critical blood bank systems from the resource intensive task of creating and printing ISBT labels and maintaining ICCBBA databases.

The LabelClinic database tables can be updated without the need to reinstall LabelClinic.  This is beneficial for obtaining new product codes when released from ICCBBA.
